The Nine Behaviors of Leadership™
Module 1:
Motivating Others Through Adaptive Leadership

Exceptional leaders understand that internal motivators are a much stronger influence over results than external rewards. Using Adaptive Leadership Concepts, exceptional leaders use four management techniques to motivate others: directing, coaching, facilitating, and delegating. The goal of this behavior is to foster independence so that tasks get done with little supervision. By learning to recognize who needs what kind of guidance in which situations and knowing how and when to offer that guidance, the exceptional leader empowers others to get the job done. It is a behavior that moves people from dependence on rules, regulations and guidance to informed independence.
